Here goes first question:
Who knows what the concept of "Scooter Time" is?

And yes, I know what it is.

Dr. Who with a Scooter riding around in his T.A.R.D.I.S. eating PI.E?

Sounds like something a Time Lord would do.

Getting there whenever you do. Usually at least hour later than expected/scheduled.

Scooter Time
Scooter Time is the time it takes to get enough Scooters togeather so you don't end up feeling bad about leaving without at least 3/4 of the expected riders.

Then you can say dam we waited 45 min....

The amount of time it takes for at least 40% of the riders to sober up before the ride.

itinerary: meet at 10, ride leaves at 11:30

scooter time: get there at 11:15, have coffe and a breakfast beer. go and get gas, come back. call person who you're waiting for. tell them to vomit off their hangover and get their ass down there. talk smack with some friends for half an hour. wait for drunkard friend to get there. call them 15mins later. they call back 15mins after that, they're at the gas station "right around the corner". wait another 1/2 hour. talk some more smack with friends. go stand in line for 10mins to use the mens room. come out of said facility, hear bikes starting up and have to race across street to start your scooter and pull on your helmet before the ride leaves without you.

best,
-greasy

Scooter time is like hawaiian time. You get there and do things when you want. Life is fun. Ya gotta stop and smell the roses along the way

It's like Miller Time, but with more gasoline and less beer.

No wait, maybe it was more beer and less gasoline...

Here we go: the beer is inversely proportional to the gas left in the tank, but directly proportional to the Time you spent on your Scooter that day...

Yeah, that sounds better! It's my final answer.

I've tried to explain this concept to people before... when I had to tell someone I was busy going to a rally, and they'd ask about when. Usually I mentioned "scooter time, and the rest of my reply was something like, "Well, it's scheduled for 1pm, which means we might actually leave around 2:30 or so."

I think it is proportional to the number of riders.

Big rides - Ride scheduled to leave at 12:00, someone calls a 10 minute warning. That often happens again 15 minutes later.

Ride departs at 12:30 straight to a gas station a block or three away where a third of the people get gas for the next 10 minutes.

But - the time you count on it happening, the ride leaves quicker than you'd expect it to. Crying or Very sad emoticon

Some people apparently think its the equivalent of keys' disease, but I find scooter time is constantly showing up to work early because I commute on the all powerful GTS.
