I just took off a pair of Conti WWs after 3000 miles... good tires, and if my mileage is any indication, a little softer than the lookalike Zippy 3s. That said, I still can't fathom why they cost so much. I'll probably buy some sport treads and paint 'em this time, but I am curious about the Shinko WWs appearing at various dealers... cheaper, and seem to be nicer than the Savas at least. (They come standard on the new Series Italia Buddys.)

Any Shinko riders out there yet?

(BTW, thanks for all the paint info surfan!)

Cody,
You got it! I'll order some this weekend. PM me with your shipping needs and I'll take care of you. My Buddy riding friend, Eri, wants a can too, so we can split 3 ways.

Glad to hear your paint job turned out so well. You should post updated pics with a close up shot.

I got the info you posted on the instructions too. That is a big help.
Thanks again
Mike

Nice!
Love the way you made your scoot your own. First thing I'll be doing is getting rid of my top case and putting on the rear rack that you have. And then I'll see what I get for fathers day!

Keep up the good work Cody. I know the feeling. A scooter will never be finished, there is always more to do.

How true how true, I guess I'm a true Vespaholic 8)
Nyle, I get so many compliments on those chrome wheels I saw the photos of my GT on Jettin. I appreciate that and the photo you just posted here. I usually try to keep my ugly mug out of the shots, it takes away from the beauty of my GT. I forgot I slipped that one to you.
I don't have much more chrome to go, I ordered chrome foot rests from Vespa of Palm Beach. After that it'll be an exhaust sytem upgrade.
Of course, now I'll have to send Michelles wheels out to you after the summer to get chromed. What's more expensive than one Vespa? That's right.....two

Hey Ian,
You could of just gone to my blog to see my mug Razz emoticon
And yes, my whitewall are also going yellow . I think when I do them again (see Whitewalling Tires in the Projects section of MV) it'll be better and hopefully I won't have that yellowing effect. I'm getting more paint and I have one of my old tires to experiment on. I'm going to try and use the sanding process. I hope to try to do this by end of April or so. I first have to buy an oribital sander I'll keep all interested parties up to date.

Hey Beale,
Yes, thats the product that is recommended on the pre-painting section/tire prep. However, It won't keep them white oddly enough. I'm not sure any product will. I believe there is just a chemical reaction with a pretroleum product(the tires) and the paint. I hope by sanding the tires next go around that hopefully it'll interfere with that reaction and I won't have that problem. I'll still try different whitening products in the interim.
Thanks amigo!

I had good luck (on my Contis, mind you) with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser pad. They weren't yellow, but dark with brake dust/road gunk. Don't know about the yellowing (that Savas are famous for).
