I like it Tom. Your garage is a "rustic charmer!"
Thanks Len, that garnered a belly laugh! Reminds me of my uncle the janitor, he really was called a "sanitary engineer".

Sigh... garage envy.

One day, I'll live in an actual house with an actual garage. One day.

I found a better shot of our garage.....

No 'Rustic Charmer' here, more like suburban sprawl. Antiseptic and soul-less.....but! still a great place to stash a great bunch-o-bikes and a few cars...(sadly, the Triumph has found a new owner since the photo was taken.)

It might be narrow and cramped,, but everything you need is close at hand while doing maintenance. Extremely jealous of y'all who have such fine spaces. I should post a pic of my debacle, what a mess I have on my hands.

We had a huge barn growing up. Old dairy farm. One half was hay lofts and open space. Even had an old sleigh from the turn of the century still hanging out in there. Dad used our add on garage for his tools tho.

You make a very good point. I'm never more then a few steps away from virtually any tool I need. It makes it very convenient. I tend to be a bit OCD and put tools back in the drawer as soon as I finish with them (even if I might need them again 20 minutes later). Having the tool chest centrally located and with the relatively narrow space, it keeps me from spending too much time running back and forth.

Indeed. High ceilings!
Ceiling height was a major concern with the tall windscreen. Also, because shifty Vespas always leak (I read that on the internet), airiness was a must to let fumes disperse. Fortunately, our architect rides a scooter and knew all that.

Wood stove? Wow, now that's a big hitter...there's a danger this thread could morph into whose got the coolest fitting or accessory...

I put Wood Stove as #2 after some of those cool lifts..

But then I've just seen that tyre changer...
