Modern Vespa

Hello

I'm working on a webpage for vespas and have come across a bit of a problem! ... maybe I'm a bit thick ... but I'm confused.

Here's the problem. We have the GT 60 that was released as a special edition for the 60th ... then we have the GTV 250 and most the websites/info I have read say the same!!

Can someone please explain the difference? I assume that the GT 60 is a 'prettier' version of the GTV 250 ... is that correct or is it a completely different scoot? Can someone please explain the difference?

2 good quality pictures of each scoot will be useful then I can see the the differences.

Any help will be appreciated.

GT 60 has a different paint colour, as well as a different seat colour than the GTV 250. I'm not sure if the GTV 250 has the contrast stitched seat with embroidered Vespa on it as well. Most importantly the GT60 is a limited run of only 999 in the world and thus comes with a plaque with the number and initials of the owner. It also comes with a cool cover as well as a book and something I can't recall.

I think, but don't know for sure, cos i've not yet seen a GT60 (have seen a GTV) that the GT60 also has a multifunction display below the speedo, including digital rev counter, temp gauge etc. The GTV only has a clock in this same panel.

Having seen them side by side, I'd actually say the GTV is by far the prettier scoot. GT 60 has a nice gunmetal gray, but the Avio Gray of the GTV has a whole lot more depth and rich tone. Apart from a few cosmetics (like paint), I was under the impression they were the same bike. And according to the breakdown in Giorgio Sarti's book "Vespa: 60 Years of the Vespa," both the GTV and GT 60 seem to share the exact same specs. As was mentioned before, one's just a limited edition and the other is in regular production.

Apart from paint and seat colour they are the same scoot, but with the GT60 you get a leather bound collectors pack and a limited edition plaque with your name / initials and the production number on it. Or so I was lead to believe by my dealer.

The GT60 does NOT have the digital rev counter or temp gauge.
Yea that would have been kinda nice.....

I picked up my GT60 on January 11th. I have yet to hear back from the dealer as to when I get my owners pack. I've asked the 3 times nicely and plan on the 11th of March to pursue some other plan....I have yet to devise.

How is it that your GT60 is number 780 if you haven't recieved your owners pack? Without that Owners Pack the dealer wouldent know what number your scoooter is....
