When i'm riding my vespa i get allot of attention, peoples and kids waving, other people with vespa's sometimes exited to see me drive and start honking the horn and waving etc.

I really love it that a vespa can get that attention while the 'normal' scooter a few lengths before me does'nt get that kind of attention so i'm sure it is the look of the vespa that makes most people get excited.

Of course, there are also a-holes out there but most people show sympathy for the vespa, even tatoo'd harley davidson riders !

I enjoyd my ride today with the nice weather and as you can read most of the people on my way enjoyed it to

There are few Vespas in the OKC area but lots of knock-offs. My LX gets plenty of attention whether riding or parked. More so now that I have a white one.

I was in a store yesterday and, because I had an armored jacket on, the guy asked me if I had a Harley. I said, "No. I could have any bike I want and I used to have a Bonneville, but I really dig my Vespa LX150." Then this really pretty young girl who also worked there said, "More classy." I had to agree.

I owned a custom Harley Dyna Wide Glide and put plenty of highway miles on it and did most Poker Runs too. Then things changed where I worked weekends and didn't enjoy riding alone on my weekdays off work. I began to ride around town on a heavy motorcycle designed for the open road.
I purchased a 2007 LX150 with the sincere desire to keep both of them.
As it turned out I was riding the Vespa way more than the Harley. I ended up selling it as it basically sat in the garage.
I can still go about everywhere I did on the Harley but I take the back roads instead of the Interstates. I see far more cool places on the Vespa.
The 2007 LX died in an encounter with a cager. I replaced it with a 2012 LX150ie.
I'm very happy with my ride and I'm glad I held out for a Vespa.

Even on my Fly 150 I get nods of encouragement and thumbs up all over.

Just yesterday I saw in my mirror a guy on a crotch rocket coming up fast and I anticipated the fly by. Instead he slowed and stayed with me until we came to a red light. I stopped a bit short and he pulled past me a few feet. Then he rolled back, popped his face shield and nodding his head said "I love your sccoter!" I nodded appreciatively, popped my shield while acknowledging the beauty of his ride (a very nice suzuki) and added "you'll get wherever you're going a lot faster than me."

He replied "but you'll see more of the world in between" and laughed. The light turned green and he sped away - not at full throttle - and was kind enough to point out the road kill hazard about 200 yards past the light. Then he gunned it and the exhaust was screamin'.

Great stories! I get the same from mostly everyone, 8 out of 10 trips I get into conversation re my Vespa, it's fun to chat it up with people and help educate them... most have the basic questions, some are motorcyclists inquiring about "little scooters".

I think the grin I have when riding it is inviting...

I love my Ducati 1000 Sportclassic but can't wait for my Napoleone 300 to arrive in 2 weeks.

One of my fondest memories is my granpa and me riding his beat up Vespa to go to the beach on our swimsuits.

My first time to get a Vespa why the hell did I wait this long. These 2weeks waiting for my beauty to arrive feel like 2 decades

Yesterday went out for a ride to find out what the local (35km away) Vespa dealer looks like and to make acquaintance.
All the mechanics and the office girls and guys were out looking at my scooter.
They don't seem to see a lot of them up here outside of Tokyo.
Today on my way to the pool for my daily swim I stopped at a grocery store and kids were admiring the Vespa while one guy asked if he could take a picture with one of his kids on it !

One time I rode up to Jerome and there is a bar there, The Spirit Room, well its a popular bar for bikers and is usually lined up front with Harleys. Well I back in my Vespa and get off it as 2 big burley tatted up bikers walk out and say "Hey nice scooter" I replied "Thanks although not as nice as your fat boy" his response is to this today the greatest thing I've ever heard and live by "Hey man it's 2 wheels and an open road, that's all you need"

I took my Basic RiderCourse recently and was the only one on a scooter. Everyone was snickering a bit at first, but at some point they all seemed to realize that I was doing everything they did, but with much less hassle. I think I may have won over some converts.

That happened to me (GTS300) and a friend (BV500) tonight here in Phoenix!

Just yesterday we rode the Vespa to a eclectic cafe to enjoy pizza and beer.
We sat outside on the patio where I could see our scooter. Almost everyone there as well as new arrivals went to look it over. Finally, a couple came to our table (found us because our helmets ) and asked if they could talk to us about the Vespa.
Turned out they were planning to buy a Chinese scooter but after the usual questions, they were going to go with a LX150.
I did tell them that Oklahoma lost it's only authorized Vespa dealership for warranty/service and they would have to buy out of state and ship.
But I also told them that I wasn't concerned as DIY service was both straightforward and supported by this forum.
Great conversation but where is my commission?

It seams every time I go out I get people either taking photos or just looking over my scooter. I was getting paranoid but it appears quite normal. Whew emoticon
