Help me out here guys.

I'm after a frame and/or frame + engine. Looking for a Sprint/Sprint Veloce, or would consider older VBB's etc, anything between 1960 and 1974/5.

I have a modest budget, but what I'm looking for is something that's incomplete and needs work, I'm looking for something to learn about and work on over the summer months.

I've looked on eBay and theres the odd few on there, some in terrible condition, some overpriced and some just bid on by a thousand people to the point where they aren't viable.

Does anyone know of any good little sites to find them?

Do any of you have an old bike you'd be willing to negotiate with me? I'd rather buy from a bunch of guys I know because I know i like to be surrounded by enthusiasts and like minded people!

So, come on, give me a hand, help me out and find me a project bike!

try scoot.net and your local craigslist (dont forget to check other nearby cities). also scooterfinds.com compiles from other sites.

They're all US sites mate, im in the UK.

There's plenty of bargains in the US but not so much in the UK!

My subscription ran out several months back, but I used to drool over some of the deals in the Scoot Trader section in Scootering mag. Different kinds of Ps, PKs and T5s, some with some with performance work or custom stuff done, good prices on those I thought. Like 8-900 UKP for used but running P200s or kitted P125s, most with disc. Full-blown custom P200s, feature bikes from a couple years ago, for like 2K-2200 UKP. Lambretta prices were all kinda crazy, and there weren't that many pre-PX Vespas in there usually, but it might be worth a look.

+1 on that.
You can access Scootertrader online at http://www.scootertrader.com/ but I don't think that the online ads and the ones in the printed newstand magazine are in synch - only a few online compared with several pages in the mag, plus pics, when online has no pics (hello, its 2012!)

For what you're looking for though, Classic Scooterist may be better
http://www.scooteristscene.com/ You can view classified ads online, but again, there's more in the printed version (they make no revenue on line so I guess they skew the ads to the paid for mag)

Let us know how the search goes...

Spoke to him quite a few times, always given great advice and helped me out.

Given your comments regarding your experiences with other humans in other threads I'll take your opinion on others with a pinch of salt.

I would say no Bitsa, its shocking, but I really need to know what they were having for dinner...

oh, and the same thing happened to me virtually at my local scooter shop, I only wanted some handlebar mirrors, they looked at me like I was stupid, now I ride 2 miles more and go to an old boy, who is a bit slow, but is a proper nice man!!
