I've been trading since about 2009 now.

I started quite small, only throwing a few hundred here and there. I mainly trade in oil/energy shares.

In 2010 I paid the deposit on my house using the money I had got from trading.

I'll let you in on a couple I'm currently trading.

MATD - Traded them since 2010, very predictable share, easy money to be had.
XEL - Shows great potential for £4!
RXP - Not sure about this one, but either way I currently hold a small holding.

Anyone else trade here? (Spread betting isn't trading fyi. lol)

aapl... pretty much have dumped most of my other holdings except a few emerging market and index funds. all of this is in my ira so it's "play" money.

have shares purchased from $77-$580 and expect it to keep going up to iphone 5 and hopefully beyond.... further we go beyond steve jobs, the murkier it gets

I invest in shares... I don't really try to trade them too much. I tend to go for much larger cap stocks though. Currently I hold:

Citigroup, Annaly Captial Management, Chevron, Merck, Intel, and Wal-Mart.

Usually I rebuild the formula every January 1 (actually first day of trading) based on a set of screening rules I've developed that's based on several well known shares measurements (fundamental & technical measurements).

All I'm hoping is to average about 10-12% a year... nothing too exciting but it gets the job done. This year I'm doing about 5.75% so far (compared to 8.31% for the Dow and 11.65% for the S&P 500). Like I said, nothing exciting but just trying to make a steady return.

Still too anxious to move beyond various fixed term bonds I'm making about 3.5%without having to 'do' anything, so keeping ahead of inflation, just.

Been doing quite a bit of reading so when the latest one comes due I may start to spread my wings a bit.

It is hard to turn down 14% dividends, isn't it? I've been in and out of NLY for about ten years now. I have in in my ROTH IRA, traditional IRA, my wife's ROTH, and our regular account.

The APPL that I bought at $4.97/share (split adjusted) is now at $585/share.

Some was, but as late as 2003 you could buy APPL for $6.50/share, and $3.25 at the end of 1997 (split adjusted.) I've been in and out several times since, but I have actual certificates for the first shares I bought, and Apple sent more certificates each time it split. So I've kept them.

I have only had AAPL since 06, so please excuse the ignorance...but I thought they have never split-not so?

AAPL split on Jan 16, 1987, June 21, 2000, and Feb 28, 2005. They used to pay dividends from 1987 to 1995, too.
