Hey Guys,

My 61' VBB has a 3 port PGO motor in it. I know nothing about it (other than it runs and goes pretty good). Can anybody chime in on that motor and perhaps where I can find out more specifics.

Thanks
Trevor

They were licensed to produce Vespas in Taiwan in the 70s and early 80s. So it's a variant kind of like Bajaj/LML.

Thanks Killo,

So, is my motor a Piaggio or PGO?

Would PGO supply engines for Vespas or is it that PGO licensed and then produced Vespas in Taiwan? Or is it more like Sears did with a simple rebadge with Cushman?

I assume it is the same in terms of parts as a stock 150cc VBB engine?

Trevor

I don't know. I've never seen one so I can't say whether parts are interchangeable or not.

I don't think PGO was licensed by Piaggio. I think they were just making copies. Scooterville USA sold a few in the late 80's and they looked like a Chetak crossed with a P. I also came across a smallframe PGO project at a swapmeet and kinda regret not getting it.
