I am definately going to get a belt or two. Also looking at some other parts I need for the scoot to do all the repairs to the Clutch and Variator. Does anyone know if they keep MP3 250 parts in stock, or if they generally have a loooonnnnggg lead time?

We stock all the basics.

If we run out, or need something special, Vespa/Piaggio/Aprilia USA can resupply us in 3-5 days. They have a USA fill rate on the spare parts side of about 99%, meaning we get 99% of everything in 3-5 days. We let you know if it will take longer.

Accessories are a little tougher and in shorter supply, but we stock what we can, especially the high turnover stuff.

Thanks for the business

Ed

being the mp3 2500 uses the same engine parts as a gts 250 they should have what you need if not it will only take a day or 2 to get from the warehouse/distribution center.

What else are you needing?

I am verifying everything with pnydrvr right now, but it is my recollection that I will need the cup spring that goes on the variator. Mine has very little "cup" left to it.
The inner driving 1/2 pulley. The spacer-bushing is protruding and is scarred.
The clutch drum.
I THINK that is all I need....

The items listed is all I will need and the scoot will be in tip top shape!
I think, as does pnydrvr, someone seriously over torqued important clutch and variator nuts. Probably did it with an impact. I had to use a breaker bar to get them loose, and that isn't right!

I am an avid sponsor supporter on MV. This is a genuine question about a possibly genuine belt. No bad karma please!

That price is almost, but not quite, as good as PSN tuning will deliver an OEM
belt, an oil filter, A spark plug, and (I've forgotten the fourth item), to my front door, from the UK, in about six or seven days.

Rollers.

That was the old price for the kit. Now the prices have gone up considerably.

I called and spoke with them directly and asked about the belt specifically.
I was assured it is the OEM belt with kevlar. At 79.99, it is about half of what it costs at some other places. I know when I last bought a belt it was 150.00.

With all due respect, PSN does have an appealing price-point and reportedly great service, but they only use PayPal for US orders and some of us don't want to have a PayPal account....

Besides, AF-1's is a new MV sponsor and if Tomjaz hadn't actually researched their link, I would'nt have found a value priced belt otherwise.

So Thank You to Tomjasz for clicking one of our sponsors' links AND to AF-1 for being a MV sponsor.

Nice price, but would like to know if its wise to 'stock up' a few years in advance?

A GTS belt typically gets replaced between 10-15K miles, or? It might take me five years to reach that. Do I get one or two now?

A GTS belt is recommended at 8k, some of us push the envelope to 10, or a bit further but 15K IMO is asking for some kinda trouble.

That being said, I wish I had a dime for every part I have stocked up on for vehicles I no longer own. Seriously, it's a sickness with me !

(I ordered one belt for each of our scooters....we're both a thousand clicks or so away from needing an over-extended replacement)

I was told, by Andy there that PayPal was the only way they had any "protection" for themselves from CC fraud, was through PayPal.

Maybe Amex is different.....it isn't an option for me.

AF1 took my Visa directly without involving any third party (PayPal) and My belts are on the way.

I happen to have an OEM belt right in front of me. It is not smooth on the outside. I just changed a belt out last week. The worn belt was not smooth on the outside, nor was the replacement OEM belt.

Wouldn't be the first web store to have a picture that didn't jibe. The part number is correct. Why not ask the sponsor befor a public post questioning the accuracy? Support those hat support us!

Sorry Tom, not questioning the accuracy of the sponsor. I just happened to have a belt sitting here on my coffee table.....what? you don't? Anyway, I snapped a photo. Definitely, website photos can be inaccurate. I did not mean to offend.

That price is spectacular for an OEM belt. I've made note of it myself and when I need another one, I'll give them a call.

You are right. That was out of line to ask for other people's opinions on MV. I support all our sponsors and I was just wanting reassurance from someone who is not involved with the company. I thought that would be the best way to get such feed back.

Yeah I changed my belts at 7k. I think I misrepresented myself. I've been through two. One is still sitting on my spare part cabinet. Razz emoticon

Ahh, THAT outside.

Assumed you meant the drive surface...the "outside" where it meets the variator pulley! Potato....potahto.

I'm sure that Piaggio gets their belts from an outside vendor. Perhaps they changed vendors.

Thanks for posting this info Tom. They will send me 2 belts including shipping by EMS to Japan for less than the cost of my last one from another US outlet

As I want to replace my belt every 10.000km, I guess keeping the belt 1 or 2 years should not be a problem
