Modern Vespa

This is messed up. I mean this is really messed up. Are they pretty? Not so much. Are the Activa and Eterno models I would seriously like to see in the states because I would probably find a way to own one of each? You betcha.

I like the way they look. I also very MUCH like how you get to the engine on these models. Someone find a way to get these guys to bring em to the States? Please?

I like the way the body lifts up for servicing. That's a great idea.Good looking scoot also.

The Honda Hero metal scoots look great! I would love it if they'd import them Only one problem: Can you say EPA? Honda won't spend the $ (to bring them to EPA requirements for the USA) for a scoot market as small as the USA.

The ability to access the engine so easy is great. So what we need is someone with a wrecked GT/GTS to cut, add hinges of some type, and an abiltity to hold it down at speed? Sounds plausable to me, but is it true to the Vespa name? I dunno I would like to have the ability though?

Beale, that's exactly what I'm thinking. I don't see how the thing could blow open with a rider on it either. I could see a couple different ways to come to a good solution to the "hood" or cowl or whatever you want to call it, being locked down. Since it really only ever needs to be opened when there's maintenance to be done.

I'm all for they type of customizations which bring simplicity to a design rather than for the sake of merely being different.

Honda's biggest issue is that they leave too wide a range open in their scooter line. 50cc, 80cc, 250cc??!?!

What a ridiculous jump it is from the Elite 80 to a Big Ruckus / Reflex. Insane. Drop it down a bit, Honda. Give us a nice peppy 150 or 200.

Actually, please just bring back the Elite 250

I have a Triumph Spitfire. The whole front end tilts up for easy servicing. There is a chrome latch on each side that hold it down. Should be able to make a smaller version of that work.

We've discussed the Eterno a couple times on the forum before. I'm a fan, considering I've never seen one. Would love Honda to step up and offer something like that for the US.

The Eterno sells for under $900 US in India! Imagine this for sale in the US for even $2K (after they mod it to meet DOT and various emissions requirements)... Honda would have a huge hit here.
