How long do I need rattle for? My arms are tired! I am spraying the wing mirror covers for my wife's VW Polo. I am really getting into shape to spray the bits of the GTV (I don't think she has worked that out yet!)

Any labour saving ideas for doing the rattle shake? Sensible please

get a bucket of very warm water and leave them in it for a bit, a minute or two of shaking is all you really need.

keeping the motion of the spray is more important anyway, smooth strokes across and use your whole arm in the movement not just the wrist. if you over spray and get runs let it dry and sand it smooth again then give it another go.

I remember an old boyd coddington American Hotrod series where they told the apprentice that he had to keep shaking the can until it stop rattling! Lol
As said though usually a couple of minutes, its only to ensure the paint is mixed together

Painting went well. The main reason for my posting was I got bored shaking tins!! It said 2 mins on the can but I guess it was a bit colder this morning and the paint felt very slow in the can It has been much warmer this afternoon and rattling was more vigorous!

Full of confidence I now feel fully qualified to have a crack at the GTV now!!
