This forum is great...what a breadth of experience!

I'm happy with the 2008 S 150. My friend and I looked at a 2007 LX 150 for her today; she will take it home soon. It appears to be in excellent shape, with about 1800 miles, and has the original owner. Never dropped, and no scratches.

The glovebox does not open when the key is pushed in. The present owner has been using a plastic device to pry it open. Ouch.

I've seen posts about it sticking, or not staying closed, but not about difficulty opening it. Can anybody advise your experience?

Thanks - John

Sounds like the cover was removed and the aluminum arm that works the latch was not set back in the proper position when installed. It's an easy fix but you have to have it open to unscrew the 3 screws inside the glove box. Take the emblem off on front of the knee gaurd 1st and remove the horn cover. Under it you will see 2 additional screws that need to be removed.

Some where here under project posts is a detail how to with pics.

Good luck!

Appreciate your help. We'll pick it up in the next week or so, and I'll take a look as you suggest.

If the glove box latches, then chances are the hook is installed properly. I've seen a broken latch hook on my wife's ET4 (same as your LX150 latch hook). It's not too difficult to remove the horn cover and get an eyeball on the latch hook. I wrote a wiki article that will show you everything you need to do to investigate and replace the latch hook if necessary.

Thanks - I looked over your pictures. Great detail and photography there. It's evident you care. I'll refer to them when the scooter is picked up.
