I am still a newbie on this thing that is why 285 miles is my longest on it so far.

Funkymonkey and I took advantage of the nice weather this past weekend and posted it on my blog.

enjoy --- http://www.scooteats.com/2012/03/ride-to-possum-kingdom-lake.html

Wow ... I wasn't aware how far that short trip was. We'll need to do more rides, longer distances. Start earlier and return later.

That was a good ride. Weather was nice ...

I use to scuba dive in that lake, back in the mid-90's ... even down near the dam. You know they have some catfish in there that is the size of a small boat.

Awesome ride. Thanks for letting me go with you.

Looks like you had a great day for a ride. Enjoyed the blog, pics and videos. You should put a link to your blog in your sig.

Any day ride is good, distance is second. Reminds me of "elephant lake, or quarry", in New Mexico. Albuquerque police use to dive there, until one day they really saw the "size of the catfish", on the bottom. Heard over 8 feet ? If that size, lots of "water power", in those fish.

Nice ride. I've only gone 20 miles on mine at the longest. I use it mainly as a commuter, two miles each way. Of course it helps that the weather is a little nicer for riding down Texas way. Fun trip.

OK, looks good. You doing that ride Saturday or Sunday?

Which leads me to .... you say you are a "newbie" ...

People come on here and declare they are a "newbie" ... how long do you have to ride (miles) on this MP3 to actually become a "non-newbie" to the MP3?

I mean, you've put about 7,000 miles on your MP3 ... so how does that make you a newbie and you've had your MP3 a year already?

We go riding and when I follow, I'm watching how you handle your scoot ... maybe I can pickup some pointers.

Now I got my scoot Nov 23. Then set out on a 929 mile round trip to Jackson MS to meet up with (David) a guy from Nashville TN to exchange seats with him, Feb 23-25 ...

I'm not sure if I'm a newbie? or just an "old-dy" because of my age, cause there are a lot of over 50 on this forum riding the MP3 ... retired people. Which is good.

So when do you end your "newbie" reign? or when do I?

only 4k+ of the miles are mine --- when I got my 500 it had almost 3k miles

when I run out of a-ha! moments with the scoot then I won't be a newbie -- until then i am a newbie

interesting ....

So I'm still having my "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" moments (geico pig) ... but I'm not so sure that still makes me a newbie. And I've had my scoot shorter time than you.

Cause I don't believe that I will ever run you of "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" moments with this scoot.

Does it?

It's actually a combination of 2 things:
more then 2000 miles on the scoot
and more then 200 posts on the forum. Razz emoticon

I am newbie, no shame in it. Just barely got comfortable withe stock set-up, then went with DP sliders and Akra exhaust, now i have yo get used to it again.

Now with the new mapping, it is handling different again. So yes i am still a newbie.

I am still not super consistent with my cornering or tight curves. Low speed I am ok. Better at highspeed freeway riding 70-85mph.

Still lots to learn and become a pro with this scoot.

LoL ... you are no newbie ... Just because you put new stuff and the scoot acts a little different ... I don't believe that it puts you back to being a newbie.

Shouldn't take you but one average ride to adjust to how your scoot reacts differently than before.

LoL ... I like riding with you because you are the pro between how long I've been riding and how long you have. I learn by watching ...

It is really fun when we go riding. Thanks for letting me tag along.
