So I've been getting my scooter ready for the upcoming riding season... the whole project cost $100 (12V Plug and Carbon Fiber Vinyl) and one manicure - warning: serious damage to nails and cuticles! LOL

To start, I removed the reflective racing stripes that have been on the leg shield and fairings for a few years now and decided to wrap certain parts in Carbon Fiber Vinyl instead. Unfortunately, I broke the plastic pegs of the rear fender reflectors while removing them. Finally, I installed a 12V Power Plug from MV.

I hit the EASY button with this mod! No instructions required, took all of 2 minutes to install.

While I had the front horn cover off, I wrapped it in carbon fiber vinyl. I carefully removed the light housing from the back and put it back on when finished for a really clean look.

Next, I had to remove the Vespa crash bars to get the fairings out and then back on. You will definitely need two pairs of hands to heat, bend and stretch the vinyl around the rounded parts of the fairings.

While I had the fairings out... I removed the license plate holder and back fender and wrapped that too.

I had one little piece left so I removed and wrapped the front fork cover too - which was only useful for the NYS inspection sticker up until then. (It's good until June so I had to be careful peeling and sticking it somewhere else.)

I'm happy with the look of the finished mods, and what's even better, all the vinyl wrapping can be easily removed once I change my mind at a future date.

Carolina.

P.S. Now I need to update my avatar... that may actually prove to be more challenging then all the rest! LOL

Edit: New mods and pics posted

That looks fantastic!! You did a great job with the vinyl. Can you post pictures viewing the whole bike from a few different angles?

Thank you Heather!

I'll take some pics of it when I get home from work tomorrow. I'll use a camera for added clarity too.

Nicely done! I can't wait to see it in person. It certainly gives your scoot a different look from before.

Carbon Vinyl Tape
Looks really good. I looked up carbon vinyl tape and there are lots to choose from. What kind/where did you buy the stuff you used? Thanks.

Thanks. Yeah, there's tons to choose from, but I did some research and I went with this one because it is best on car exteriors: http://www.metrorestyling.com/3M-Scotchprint-1080-Carbon-Fiber-Vinyl-Wrap-p/3m1080-cf12.htm

I ordered a sheet 60" x 24" and it was more than enough for all the parts (including messing up and wasting pieces), but at the end I even had a little left over.

Let me know if you need help with the ordering, ok? Send me pics when you are done

Update: Latest and final mods: Admore Light bar
Ok... now I'm finally done (I think!?) with the mods to my GTS!

Ram Mount and modified cup/water bottle holder

Topcase before...

Topcase after Admore Mini light bar... rear view

I'll try and upload a video of the light bar in actual use when braking and signaling, what is pictured is just the running light when the ignition is turned on. The modular brake light is pretty sick and the turn signals are so cool!
Nerd emoticon

A special thank you to SkyMiZeR for selling the light bar to me

That looks great. Don't think it would look as good on my vintage green though.

Hey there Carolina I just ran across this thread, your GTS looks cool with all the mods you've done. I'm glad the 10" bar light worked out as planned have to say it looks cozy right there. Big plus to be seen and safer too. Thanks for putting it to use

Thanks Robbie... maybe one of these days you'll come out and see them in person?
