while a american market super 150 isn't exactly a "rare find" they are good bikes. lots of potential, modifications both engine wise and frame/suspension wise.

personally i think that the PX is the best in terms of a first vintage bike, but a close second being the sprint/super.

i'd say it's worth between 1500~1800, maybe a little more if it's had a recent go thru on the motor, but no more than 2K.

Problems:
The holes in the legshield for that big chrome thing.
The left leg of the center stand is in the air.
The horn looks off, but horns are cheap.
And it's from a motorcycle dealer.

I would say it's an okay deal. Have you seen what Frank has in Elmhurst? He posts on Chicago Craigslist all the time. I got my GL from him. His prices for what he has are a little high, but you might be able to negotiate, and he is more honest and knowledgeable than Arlington Motorsports, I imagine--I haven't dealt with them.

You could probably get a Chicago scooterist to go check it out with you and make sure it is what it is.

I just sold a 1974 150 Super in the same part of the country, with 4200 original miles and full mechanical rebuild plus suspension, cylinder, carb upgrades for $2500 plus shipping.

If it's straight and clean and runs well, then it's a good deal, despite all that gaudy chrome.

If it needs an engine rebuild or has been sitting in storage for 15 years, then definitely not more than about $1500.
