I even love the color combo. It looks like something the Teletubbies would drive!!

If I ever bought another car I would definitely be looking at this one. It's going to be under $14,000 too!

Wow!

I just posted that link over on the Urban Scootin web site. The interior looks like Honda Metropolitan Juice and Kiwi colored scooters donated their body parts!

My next vehicle may be the Venture One. It's a hybrid, 2-seater version of the Carver that will run for under $20K.

These electric cars are appearing all over London - there are even some special recharging points appearing. Where I work is just round the corner from loads of companies that trade in oil and gas and they give these away to their employees as part of their carbon offsetting etc.

That's so cool!! I heard that there are charging areas at some Bart stations here in the SF Bay area. I think my stop (Ashby) has them.

I really like the lime and orange color combo on the Obvio, gets you noticed.

Smart should be coming to dealers... next year. But the existing Smart runs on plain ol' gas, right? (Sure, at 40+mpg, but...) They've started a $99 reservation program.

They've seeded and tested some in various places in the US. I saw one parked among the Range Rovers, Hummers and Mercedes on the street in Beverly Hills. I think I was the only one who got excited about it.

Lol...
Reminds me of the post war vehicles they used to have in England for the disabled,
Turned out that the vehicle was so bad cornering at top speed it would
flip over and often times badly injure the disabled driver.

The "Bean" did a skit about one in a parking garage.

I wouldn't want one.

It boggles my mind.
The high end $49,000 Obvio 828E has these specs:

Vehicle Performance
Range:200 - 240 miles
Acceleration: 0 to 60 < 4.5 secs with 200HP's
Top Speed: 120 mph
Charge Rate: 30 minutes for 20 - 50 miles
Full Charge: 2 hrs (fast), 5 hrs (normal)

Could it be possible from a strictly electric car? Is this real?

Did you all read the spec sheet on this car? They are saying it's going to have a curb weight of 1,328lb. And they say there are going to be versions with 170 and 250hp. That's going to be a ridiculous amount of power for a car that size. It's going to be a rocket.

Now all we need is some animals to go see in the safari car. They are awesome. I'd be afraid of safety. If a semi hit you, you'd look like a flattened wiley coyote. It'sd be great in england where cars are smaller. City driving maybe a good. Freeway not so good. MEL i love those colors too

Wellll... I'm not quite sold on the Zap! yet. Looks promising, but their rudimentary web site leaves a few questions in my mind:
Quote:
The Obvio ! 828 achieves a fuel economy of 12.5 km/liter (29.40 mpg) in urban driving and 17.3 km/liter (40.69 mpg) during highway driving when equipped with ZAP Eco-Flexible Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV) - 1.6 Liter/115Hp High Fuel Efficiency
"...when equipped with ZAP Eco-Flexible Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV)?" Are they not all equipped with it?

Their LA dealer is a music/media duplication/concert venue company, Little Radio. They're cool and serious about the evironment, but are they going to provide full service, deal with warranty issues, financing and so on?

That said, I kind of like the look of the 012 model:

Their website shows an electric version of that model, so apparently they don't all have it.
