I went out to my scooter after work yesterday. Upon starting, I discovered the scooter was turning over but would not fire up. I thought maybe the engine was flooded. I've had flooded engines before but this did not sound the same. The engine was not getting the "spark" it needed to start.
Aha! I said the myself. Check the spark plug. The GTS has been known to have the spark plug wire come loose. This was something I learned from reading this forum. And thanks to past pictures, I knew were to look for the spark plug. And sure enough, there was the wire dangling down.
I was able to shove the wire back into the rubber gasket that fits over the spark plug and my scooter came back to life. I was able to get home without walking or calling someone for a ride. A very good feeling, indeed.
I took the scooter down to the dealer today. I was not sure if anything needed to be replaced. The mechanic said the wire/gasket was threaded and just needed to be screwed back in. He did this in 5 minutes and I was back on the road, no charge.
