Modern Vespa

Hi Everyone,
I scored a pair of second hand chrome mirrors and fitted them to my ET2 last night. What do you think? I still have to modify them slightly as the RH side is higher than the LH side but thatcan wait till next week. I managed to use the original ET2 rubber grommets and secured them to the mirror stalk using a cut down tyre valve holder (the type used on a car alloy wheel).

I'll bet that no-one can guess what they came off!!

Space shuttle?

What brand are those mirrors?
I have the Vespa ET chrome mirrors on my ET4
because I wanted to keep the oval shape like the headlight.
Those look sharp and have the oval shape as well.

I went to our local wreckers yard but they were clean out of used Space Shuttle mirrors so I had to settle for BMW ones instead. They are off a BMW Cruiser R1200C "Montauk". We had some used ones lying around at work.

Did those screw in or did you have to modify.

Hi Stan,
The BMW mirror threads were the same as the original. Therefore, I was able to screw them in without any mods except for a spacer (large nut) on the LHS to give it a bit more hieght. At present, both mirrors are at different hieghts, so I will either cut down the RHS and recut the thread, or get a threaded spacer made for the LHS. I'll let you know which was easiest.
