I was given 1 red key and one blue key when I bought the scooter. I thought it would be a good idea to have 2 more as back ups so I never run into an issue if I loose them at some point. I also knew it could take many weeks to get them in some cases so I ordered 2 more keys and had them made at my local locksmith.

Problem: The bike can only remember 2 blue keys at a time? 3 keys if you count the red key for "teaching".

Example: If I "teach" one extra key to work it works fine. If I add a 3rd blue key it will work but the key I "trained" just a moment ago will not work until I teach it again? I was not sure if anyone else has run into this or not but I thought I would share. :?

You must be doing it wrong.

Page 53 of the GTS owners manual says you can have up to 7 blue keys.

"When ordering additional keys, remember that each of the keys (up to a maximum of seven) must be stored in the memory regardless of whether they are new or already in your possession".

Might want to read this thread on programming:
One key, two key, black key, blue key

I'd never heard that! How confusing and weird. I wonder how it keeps track? I have my spare blue and my red in a safe. Heh.

When "training" a new key you have to retrain ALL the keys. You have to do Red - blue - blue - blue - red (if I remember right). You can't do them one at a time. It's all or one. And be quick about it!

Try it and let us know. (my personal finding, and this isn't official, just my experience) have all the keys in the same orientation (hole up or hole down...) when you go through the programming. It seems to have made a difference for me.

Thanks for the link and I was hoping I was doing something wrong and I will retrace my steps. Making keys is easy and this should not be very tough? Red key works perfectly, 1st blue key works perfectly, 2nd blue key works perfectly, 3rd key works perfectly but 2nd key will not need to be re-trained? When I re-train the 2nd key the 3rd key is then lost? I just decided to take the 3rd blue key and the red key and add them to the gun safe for safe keeping in the event of a fire.

What is weird is the last key that was forgotten will still turn the light on but will not start the bike? I know this must be confusing....

I got it to work!!

Thank you. The trick is to teach all of the 3 keys I needed at the same time. I was teaching them one at a time and that was wrong. Each time it would forget the one that was just taught. Crying or Very sad emoticon

Example:
Red key ==> Blue Key ==> Blue Key ==> Blue Key ==>
Red key ==> Blue Key ==> Blue Key ==> Blue Key ==>
Red key ==> Blue Key ==> Blue Key ==> Blue Key ==>

When I start they all work now! Thanks Tikka Masala!! Whew emoticon
