Mostly large wheel Chinese models - I guess the classic Vespas are all being carefully restored for sale on eBay

In Laos, the passengers ride with paper umbrellas open for sun protection, take my word on that, because they zipped by faster than I could snap pics.

Yangon, Myanmar - the law only allows the military/police to ride bicycles and scooters in town! The busses were packed like nothing I've ever seen. Scooters were more prevalent in other parts of the country.

I've made notes at the bottom of each image for details.

Looks alot like Vietnam! Well, after all the two country are right next to each other. Usually you will find the same models of scooter from either country.

It makes you look taller Probably trying to comply with the letter of the law only. Kind of like riders wearing bicycle helmets.

Like this? 20 pounds of metal on your shoulders will definitely push them down- kinda sad. I also met two of the last girls to do this - they were each 14. The kids aren't following the tradition anymore. It is my understanding that the ones living in Thailand are Burmese, and there only for the tourist trade- on display for tips.
