Why white trim?
I like the looks of the seat except for the white trim.

They are from Piaggio, go to your dealer.
Now why they made them for the 250 & 400 has me baffled since there are at least three manufactures making them aftermarket but nothing for the MP3 500

The 500 (Fuoco style) is a discontinued model.

Ditto...I was almost excited until I saw no 500 option (though perhaps this is good news for your 250/400 owners).

Oooh, I want one. But given the pricing of the OEM parts, I'm expecting these are at least $600...

158 Pounds for the standard seat is about $250 US Even with shipping, that should be fairly reasonable.

Yeah but that's the standard seat, not the upgrade. Unless you're saying the standard height version of this seat is 158 pounds. Their OEM topbox is like $400, and I don't think that even includes the mounting gear.

Well that's what the flyer states...

At the bottom of the photos, it gives the price as RRP (Recommended Retail Price). Based on Piaggio's other prices, this seems to be very low.

Or better yet black color them to blend in with the seats.

Is the seat pan for the 500 really that different? It looks the same to the naked eye.

Oh, I am not saying I wouldn't take them with the white stripe, I just wondered why they would do white?
It matches nothing on an MP. It would look better if it were just black.
But heck, if it makes my tushy feel wonderfully relaxed, and marvelously comfortable, I wouldn't care if the seat was hot pink crocodile skin, with gold trim! I would buy it!

Yep. It's about 2" shorter and has a different curvature where it lays on the bike.

If you want a different seat on the 500, you've got to go custom. The 250/400 has a number of off the shelf options now.

I went custom with Cee Bailey and haven't regretted it at all. I actually tried sitting on a brand new out of the crate MP3 500 this last week at Scoot Richmond and was immediately reminded of how bad it was. I guess I'm spoiled at this point with a completely different riding position between the new seat and the custom foot pegs.
