Modern Vespa

So, due to an unfortunate turn of events, my wonderful, and very first Vespa (aka "Miles"), was damaged. It was all of 8 months old. Not exactly sure how, but it managed to end up on its right side. The perp was nice enough (I guess) to pick it back up and place my snapped off mirror on the seat ohsodelicately. SF can be a tough city on scoots. I was seriously bummed. However, due to both a great insurance company an incredible group of people over at Vespa SF, I was able to pick up brand new '07 in Excalibur Silver/Grey as a replacement. I'm in love all over again.

Here 'tis. I took this shot today, on my second day of ownership.

Congrats on your brand spanking new scooter, and regrets about your previous one. Is that a tan seat I see on your silver scooter? I'd like to see more photos of it, I've never seen tan on silver.

nice wheels. now get the euro turn signal mod!! and get rid of those wierd add on blinkers underneath your handlebars.

Thanks, all. Yes, the tan seat is courtesy of Vespa SF, where they will let you choose what colour seat you'd prefer so long as they have one available they can switch it out with. I'm sure to get more photos posted soonish. I'll look into the Euro signal mod, but frankly, I'm hesitant in messing with the electrical in any way that might even remotely cause my ride to become unreliable due to the battery being tapped. Does it use any more or less juice?

at my vespa dealer there was two silver LX's- both '07 with tan seats! and my LX is dragon red with a black seat

I know what'cha mean when you say SF can be tough on scoots. My red GTS 250 was knocked over and into a motorcycle in SF at Post and Taylor. Being on a hill didn't help much, either. No one saw who did it and i had a turn signal busted, broken mirror and a big dent in the front. Thankfully the repairs were inexpensive and I'm gonna get the dent fixed!

if your dealer does it. itll run exactly the same as the euro models. it may actually put less stress on your battery if the euro indicators act as running lights on the usa model.
