GTS Variator Alternatives
There are basically three aftermarket variator alternatives for the GTS. Whatever you decide to use, the general consensus is to keep the original belt. Others seem to have half the lifespan.

A good tuning article can be found here:

Scootering tests three variators

Here are a few observations.

The J Costa has fantastic performance but there may be some issues with its design. Very expensive.

I know what the washer is for! A WARNING to J Costa Owners!
Yet another J Costa problem....

The Polini is very well made, but there is an issue of the rollers not lasting as long as could be expected.

The Malossi is more expensive than the Polini, more work is required to fit it as the clutch contra-spring needs changed. Difficult but maybe worth it.

I suppose the choice boils down to more maintenance and expense and how much you are prepared to sacrifice for performance. They are really racing type products, due to their high-maintencance requirements.
