Overview
You must replace your variator rollers and shoes at recommended Service Intervals. Having a "sticky bendix gear" can stop your bike from starting. You will need to clean the bendix gear if this happens.

Required
- New variator roller weights, shoes and nut for your model
- 8mm, 18mm & 19mm socket and ratchet(s)
- Diagonal Cutting Pliers
- Flat screwdriver
- Variator holder tool for 150cc leader motors.
- Clutch Holder Tool
- Torque Wrench
- Loctite Medium (Blue)
- Brake Cleaner
- Safety Glasses
- Black cable or "zip" tie
- White lithium grease
- Power socket driver for transmission cover bolts.
Tips
- You should replace your old variator nut with a new nut when reinstalling.
- Having a helper lean the bike to install the inner half pulley at an angle will make it much easier.
- Time is approximately 30-60 minutes depending on skill level.
- Check your model's manual for specifics on how far the brake lever should move. This is 10mm or 3/8" on an LX150.
